OPTYSIL is a unique plant health product with high, readily-available, active silicon content (200 g SiO2/L). The specialised formulation of OPTYSIL ensures high stability for tank mixing with most plant protection products.

Leaves, strengthened by silicon deposits in cell walls, show reduced transpiration and therefore plants are more tolerant to periodic water shortages and low temperatures.

Strengthened cell walls are natural barriers; limiting the penetration of pathogens and their spread throughout plant tissues.

Silicon is one of the major component of the Earth’s crust. In soil, the majority of silicon occurs in a form of silica, which is subjected to limited and slow weathering releasing low amounts of monosilicic acid – the only plant available form of silicon. Monosilic acid occurs in soil in low amounts and is very unstable. Plant uptake is very limited so foliar application of silicon in a proper form is very important.
